By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams opened the first training/conference of 2022 at the National Police Training Academy (NPTA) in Belmopan, according to the Belize Police Department’s Public Relations Office.

The Police Department said 22 non-commission officers (NCO’s) from across the country, are participating in the Belize Police Department’s (BPD) three-day evaluation training conference for national Field Training Supervisors.

In his remarks, Commissioner Williams talked to the officers about being disciplined police officers and emphasized integrity, unity, and productivity.

According to the Police Department, the 22 participants are Regional & Lead Field Training Officers (FTO). They will be undergoing three days of intense training/evaluation as part of the FTO Program.

The training is being facilitated by Brian Watters, Field Training Officer of the U.S. Embassy of Belize. Watters is being assisted by personnel from the Police Training Academy.
