Amidst the Omicron wave, the Ministry of Health recommends boosters for persons 18 and older

The Ministry of Health and Wellness is now recommending COVID-19 vaccine boosters for persons 18 years and older.

Though the different health regions had already been promoting boosters, and some of them like the Central Health Region, on their own social media pages, now the MOHW itself has put out a flier encouraging all persons 18-years or older to do so.

“We continue to encourage persons 18 years and older to get a Covid-19 vaccine Booster if you have reached the required time frame to be eligible to take one,” said the MOHW on Thursday.

“Please also visit any of our vaccine center locations countrywide for more information.”

The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW), says it has Pfizer BioNTech and Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen vaccines available for persons who want to get their boosters.

For persons whose first two shots were AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Sinopharm, a booster is recommended three months after the second dose, and for those who were vaccinated with the Janssen vaccines, the booster is recommended two months after the first dose.

Those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Sinopharm, the recommended booster is a Pfizer vaccine.

Those vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine, the Ministry of Health and Wellness is recommending a booster of the same vaccine.

Vaccinations, boosters included, are available at all vaccinating sites countrywide.
