By BBN Staff: A Belize City taximan is out on bail after allegedly threatening to burn down his sister’s two-story house and shoot her in the face.
Earl Gentle, 44, appeared unrepresented in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday to answer for two charges; one of threat to damage of property and threatening words.
His sister, whose name Gentle has tattooed on his arm, claims that on January 7, he said: “Ah wa run upstairs and shoot yuh ina yuh face and burn down yuh house.”
Gentle plead not guilty and claims his sister fabricated the story insisting, in fact, that he is the one who built the home for his sister. He was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 and was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from his sister or any other witness in the case. He is to return to court on February 28.
