Major settlements reporting most new cases of COVID-19

By Aaron Humes: A potential record of 308 persons in Belize City have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The mainland Belize District reported a total of 428 new cases, including 39 in Ladyville, 18 in Caye Caulker, and 12 each in Lords Bank and Sandhill.

San Pedro Town added 77 new cases after 99 over the weekend.

In Cayo, there were 44 new cases in Belmopan, 43 in Benque Viejo, 46 in San Ignacio, and 35 in Santa Elena as well as 10 in Camalote and nine each in Roaring Creek and San Jose Succotz.

Moving north, Orange Walk District reported 125 cases including 64 in Orange Walk Town and 18 in Trial Farm, and Corozal District added 59 cases including 25 in Corozal Town.

Stann Creek District has added 122 new cases including 43 in Dangriga, 28 in Independence, 16 in Hopkins and 13 in Placencia, while Punta Gorda Town added 18 of 37 new cases in the Toledo District.
