Prime Minister, Special Envoy for Children & Families meet with US foundations

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Prime Minister John Briceño and his wife Rossana Briceño, Special Envoy for Children & Families, met on Wednesday with representatives of US foundations to ‘build bridges,’ said the Prime Minister.

“Making connections … building bridges to benefit talented young Belizeans and women. H.E Rossana Briceno Special Envoy for Children and Families –
my wife and I met with partners from US foundations and organizations to provide productive collaboration,” said the Prime Minister.

Mrs Briceño said the meeting had the objective of building partnerships to benefit young talented Belizeans. She said that as Special Envoy for Children and Families, she accompanied the Prime Minister “to establish a collaboration benefiting women in Belize”.

Both met with Arian Simone, CEO and Founder of Fearless Fund of the United States, and Chaka Zulu, the Co-Founder of Disturbing the Peace Records in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Arian Simone provides support of education grants through her Women of Color foundation. Our hope is to develop a collaboration that sees Belizean women register online for a 12 month training and after the training receive support,” said Mrs Briceño.

Mrs Briceño said Zulu manages the careers of well-known US entertainers such as Ludacris, Outkast, Cee-Lo Green, and Iggy Azalea.

The meeting was facilitated by Belizean American Jenya Meggs.
