Last year’s winner Fred Usher Jr is all set to win the Annual George Price Day 15K Classic for a second consecutive time on Saturday, January 15 in Belize City.
Usher won the race in 2021 in one hour, one minute.
The race, organized by the Freetown Reserves Promotions, starts at 6:00 am at Mile 8 on the George Price Highway, and finishes at the Freetown Reserve on Freetown Road across from Atlantic Bank in Belize City. As the runners approach the city entrance, they will take Lake Independence Boulevard, run over the bridge and on to Chetumal Street. The runners will then make a right turn onto the Philip Goldson Highway and finish on Freetown Road.
The Freetown Reserves Promotion is a non-profit organization whose focus is youth, sports, and education. The organizers say they are doing the race to “encourage healthy living through participation”.
Registration is $25 at Hair Architect Barber Shop on Freetown Road.
The race will feature five categories: Elites, Juniors, Masters, Master Senior, and Women.’
