New Year’s Day Race winner Roxana Lemus competes on Saturday in Father of the Nation 8K Run in Belmopan

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: New Year’s Day Race winner Roxana Lemus competes on Saturday in Celebrating the Father of the Nation 8K Run being held in honor of the late Prime Minister George Price in Belmopan.

Belmopan City Councilor Sanie Cal, in partnership with the National Sports Council, is organizing the 8K Run which will start and finish at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium at 6:00 am.

Seventy-five runners, 42 men, and 33 women, signed up for the race according to TotalTime Belize’s Ricardo Salazar.

The following is the race route:

Start at Isidoro Beaton Stadium

Left on North Right Road

Left on Constitution Drive

Right on Forest Drive

Left on Hummingbird Highway

Left on Constitution Drive

Right on South Ring Road

Right on Mountain View Blvd

Left on Hummingbird Ave

Left on Libertad Ave

Right on South Ring Road

Continue on East Ring Road

Finish at Isidoro Beaton Stadium.
