By Aaron Humes: In separate incidents, police in the Stann Creek District have removed a firearm and ammunition from the streets and arrested two persons.
The first incident took place Thursday afternoon in Hopkins village, where at the residence of security guard Benjamin Kelly, 42, and Sharet Burgess, 38, a search uncovered a .223 live round and two nine-millimeter Luger live rounds in the living room.
Police have arrested and jointly charged Kelly and Burgess for two counts of keeping ammunition without a gun license.
Meanwhile, on Yampa Street in Dangriga Town on Thursday, police recovered from an abandoned lot a plastic bag containing a nine-millimeter pistol and magazine which was deposited as found property, as no one was in the area.
