The 2nd Annual George Price Day 15K Classic, organized by the Freetown Reserves Promotions, started at Mile 8 on the George Price Highway and finished at the Freetown Reserve on Freetown Road across from Atlantic Bank. As the runners came into Belize City, they turned on to Lake Independence Boulevard, over the bridge and on to Chetumal Street, onto the Philip Goldson Highway, and finishing on Freetown Road.
The Freetown Reserves Promotion is a non-profit organization whose focus is youth, sports, and education. The organizers say they are doing the race to “encourage healthy living through participation”.
In the first edition, the race started near mile 10 on the Philip Goldson highway and came straight into Belize City.
