By Aaron Humes: During Cabinet’s meeting this week, Minister of Education, Culture, Science & Technology Francis Fonseca plotted the comeback for in-school learning.
Earlier this week, 198 of 570 approved schools opened for face-to-face instruction on January 10. Already there are rumors of COVID-19 cases at some schools but the Ministry said this is being closely monitored.
The remaining approved schools are to be opened for in-class instruction by the end of January 2022.
Schools were expected to have some form of social distancing in the classrooms and other facilities; wash-basins to promote handwashing and students were made to wear masks. A sizable section of the student population is vaccinated and doses are available for those who are not.
