By Aaron Humes:WLS-TV Chicago noted that this past Saturday is the sixth anniversary of the disappearance of one of its top producers, Anne Swaney. Her murder remains unsolved.
She disappeared while on vacation in Belize from a horse ranch known as Nabitunich Farm; her body was found floating in the Mopan River, not far from the ranch.
WLS-TV said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) did not have any new information on when it reached out on Saturday. The FBI is offering a reward of US$20,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
A post-mortem examination said that Swaney had been manually strangled and suffered blunt force traumatic injuries to the head and neck.
Swaney’s belongings were found on a yoga deck next to the river that runs through the eco-resort, which is popular with Americans and Canadians. Swaney had vacationed there previously.
Anne Swaney worked at WLS-TV as an executive producer for online operations. Among her passions were traveling and animals, particularly horses and cats.
