By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (NMSB) says the cold front will continue until Tuesday, but the temperatures will be a degree or two higher than this morning.
The NSMB said in its midday forecast that low temperatures Tuesday morning will drop to 52°F in the mountains, 59°F inland, and 66°F on the coast.
Today’s high temperatures were 68°F in the mountains and 78°F inland and on the coast.
On Monday evening, a cool northerly airflow prevails maintaining cool and dry weather on Monday night.
The cold front will “move a little farther to the southeast through tomorrow, then weaken.”
The NMSB said surface and low-level winds over our area will turn to the northeast on Monday evening, then become east by Tuesday evening. This should cause a gradual warming tomorrow moving the minimum temperatures Tuesday morning a degree or two higher than Monday morning.
The NMSB said “cool and dry conditions will continue over the next day or so, with a slight increase in moisture and the chance for light showers after that”.
Incidentally, the NMSB has a small craft caution in effect advising of large swells beyond the reef.
