A 20-year-old Lord’s Bank resident is behind bars at the Belize Central Prison after being charged in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today for the murder of 25-year-old David Tzac and the attempted murder of a 14-year-old male minor.
Malcolm Muschamp appeared unrepresented answering to a total of five charges, including dangerous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and keeping a firearm without a gun license.
No plea was taken and he was remanded to prison until April 19.
The accusation against him is that on Thursday, January 13, he entered Tzac’s home on Antelope Street Extension, Belize City and fatally shot Tzac and also shot the minor, who managed to survive the ordeal. Police on nearby mobile patrol responded quickly and caught Muschamp fleeing the scene and disposing of what would later be learned to be a firearm.
In an interview with police, Muschamp reportedly admitted to being at the murder scene but claims he never did the shooting. In his caution statement, Muschamp told police that he visited the yard in the company of another man who he alleges did the shooting and that afterward he picked http://online-pharmacy.org up the gun and ran with it after the crime. He claims that was when police caught up to him.
