By Benjamin Flowers: Today, the governments of Belize and Costa Rica strengthened their relationship by signing a number of bilateral agreements.
Foreign Minister of Belize, Eamon Courtenay, and Costa Rica’s Foreign Minister, Rodolfo Solano Quirós signed Joint Declarations on strategic cooperation and ocean and seas preservation as well as MOUs on climate change cooperation and tourism.
Foreign Minister Quirós has been in Belize since yesterday and has since held meetings with Prime Minister John Briceño, as well as Ministers of Health and Wellness (Kevin Bernard), Blue Economy, and Civil Aviation (Andre Perez), and a number of other notable officials.
The visit and subsequent signing of agreements further build on the cordial relations Belize and Costa Rica have enjoyed for the last 40 years.
