By Aaron Humes: Prime Minister John Briceño on Tuesday evening welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica Rodolfo Solano Quirós at the start of his two-day official visit.
Minister Solano Quirós will meet with opposite number Eamon Courtenay and Ministers of Health and Wellness (Kevin Bernard), and Blue Economy and Civil Aviation (Andre Perez). He is also expected to meet Dr. Vincent Palacio, Interim President of the University of Belize, and Dr. Colin Young, Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center during his visit.
Their discussions, according to a Government statement, are expected to be centered on important bilateral and cooperation matters including Belize’s CARICOM chairmanship, SICA, and Central American affairs, tourism, environment, climate change, food, animal health safety, and vocational-technical training, among others.
Belize and the Republic of Costa Rica celebrated 40 years of cordial and mutual diplomatic relations in 2021.
