Garden City’s Ian Gaynair recalled to Belize Men’s National Football Team

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ian Gaynair, one of Belize’s most capped players, was recalled to the Belize Men’s National Football Team (BMNT).

Gaynair, who is now playing for Belmopan’s Garden City in the FFB Top League, was called to join the BMNT after defender Jordan Casanova travelled to Chicago to try out with the Chicago Fire U-23 side.

Gaynair joined the BMNT as it started its training sessions at the FFB headquarters in Belmopan on Wednesday, January 18.

The BMNT is preparing for an international football triangular in Nicaragua next week prior to the CONCACAF Nations League set for June.

The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) said the BMNT will face Guatemala at 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 29 and will take on Nicaragua on Tuesday, February 1 at 7:00 pm.

The BMNT travels to Managua next week Wednesday, January 26. The triangular opens that same day with Nicaragua hosting Guatemala at 7:00 pm.
