High-level discussions were held to promote economic and infrastructural development in Southern Belize

By BBN Staff: Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government and Michael ‘Mike’ Espat, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment held a very important meeting with the President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The discussions focused on the integration and partnership between the Government of Belize and CABEI, as well as creating opportunities to invest in economic and infrastructure development in the south of Belize.

While in Southern Belize, the CABEI delegation and high-level Belize officials were taken on a tour of the Belize Defense Force (BDF) Camp (Fairweather) in Punta Gorda and met with the General Manager of the Toledo Teachers’ Credit Union.

Also present at the meeting were: Mayor Charles Selgado; Valentino Shal, CEO in the Ministry of Rural Development, Community Development, Labour and Local Government; Dr. Osmond Martinez, CEO in the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment and other members from CABEI.
