By Aaron Humes: A man from the Belize District is the 612th death overall from COVID-19 since the pandemic began in Belize and the ninth for the month of January.

The individual was unvaccinated.

Since November 1, 2020, when the Delta wave began to die off and covering the more recent “Omicron wave,” some 121 persons have died from COVID-19 countrywide.

As before, the majority of these persons are in middle and old age, with demonstrably fewer deaths among young people, though often young people transmit the virus to their older folk.
