By Aaron Humes: Fresh off her second straight election victory and the successful transition of her nation as a republic, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley will be joining her fellow heads of government in Belize.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Courtenay repeated the official congratulations from Belize stating, “We have very good relations with Barbados as a CARICOM member state, Commonwealth member state. We look forward to welcoming Prime Minister Mottley to Belize for the CARICOM intersessional [meeting] at the end of February and more than congratulations are due to her.”
The Minister further observed, “I think once again, Prime Minister Mottley showed us that she is a master politician. Anybody who calls an election more than a year and a half before it’s due and wins thirty to nothing, must have a very good feel and touch for the pulse of the people. She has demonstrated that.”
