Belize City Council congratulates Barbados Prime Minister Mia Ottley on her resounding electoral victory

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize City Council (BCC) has congratulated Barbados Prime Minister Mia Ottley on her resounding electoral victory on January 19.

The BCC said it’s an honour to witness this time in Caribbean political history when women are given the opportunity to take on great responsibilities and succeed.

“We extend the heartiest congratulations to the Hon. Mia Mottley on her re-election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados,” said the BCC.

“Prime Minister Mottley is a regional icon and trailblazer. She has especially inspired our women who look towards her as a role model for her glass ceiling-shattering intellect, integrity, poise, and grit.”

Mottley called snap elections one and a half years ahead of time and led her party to a 30-0 resounding victory.

Mottley is scheduled to come to Belize in February to attend the CARICOM inter-sessional meeting.
