Hopkins Farmers Cooperative harvesting peanuts

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Hopkins Farmers Cooperative is now harvesting peanuts according to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).

MAFSE, which has been working closely with farmers around the country assisting them with their crops, said in a social media post that it is strongly in support of non-traditional crops.

“This is part of the 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚 mandate to ‘find niche markets for the export of the non-traditional commodities’ and promote ‘diversification and innovative climate-smart systems’,” said MAFSE.

“Keep it up, Hopkins farmers, and Kudos to the Coops Department for working with our farmer groups!”

MAFSE has been working closely with farmers around the country assisting them with their crops.
