Man detained in attempted murder investigation makes it way to holding cell before police find a loaded gun on him

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man from Holy Emmanuel Street was detained by police today in relation to an investigation of attempted murder and made it all the way to the cellblock before police found out he had a gun.

The suspect was brought to the Queen Street Police Station as part of an ongoing attempted murder investigation.

He was escorted to the cellblock and then searched, where officers found a .9mm pistol with a loaded magazine in the front of his pants.

The suspect’s name is being withheld at this time as he has not been formally charged with an offense.
