By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after making threats to his neighbor with a shovel and the matter was taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Forty-two-year-old Manuelito Castillo appeared unrepresented in court on Friday to answer to a single count of aggravated assault upon his neighbor Bryan Reneau.

Reneau alleged that on Thursday, January 20, the two were involved in an altercation when Castillo pulled the shovel on him causing him to fear for his life.

In court, Castillo pleaded not guilty and maintains that he did no such thing.

There was no objection to his bail so Castillio was granted bail in the sum $1,500 plus one surety of the same.

He is due back in court on March 21.
