Net active cases of COVID-19 falls for the first time in a month

By Aaron Humes: For the first time since December 21, the approximate start of the “Omicron wave” of COVID-19 in Belize, more people have recovered from the disease than caught it.

Ministry of Health and Wellness data shows 1,501 total recoveries compared to 1,394 new cases for a net reduction of 107 over the weekend.

It is something to point to as the disease claimed six more lives over the weekend and kept 24 more people in hospital.

The number of active cases is down to 9,310 with 328 samples under investigation.
