By BBN Staff: A 20-year-old Hattieville man claims he was only doing a favor for a sick neighbor when police busted him with over 100 grams of marijuana.
Police say that on Friday, January 21, they saw someone from an SUV hand Jafari Anthony Lobo a bag, which he hid under his shirt. When they stopped and searched him, they found 116.4 grams of marijuana on him. On Monday he appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.
He maintains that he only picked up the package for a neighbor who is sick with COVID-19, but pleaded out to the lesser charge of possession.
