Big price increases announced at the pumps: Regular, Kerosine and Diesel going up

By Benjamin Flowers: The Government of Belize has announced price changes to three types of fuel coming into effect tomorrow.

This afternoon the Ministry of Finance issued a notice saying that effective Thursday, January 27, 2022, the cost of Regular gasoline will increase by 41 cents from $11.69 to $12.10 per gallon; the cost of Kerosene will increase by 59 cents from $8.20 to $8.79 per gallon, and the cost of Diesel will increase by 67 cents from $10.89 to $11.56 per gallon.

Meanwhile, the price for premium gasoline will remain unchanged at $12.30 per gallon.

“The price changes reflect current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies,” the Ministry said.

The changes represent the third price adjustment for fuel for the month of January and for the year 2022.
