By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal Town Mayor Rigo Vellos on Tuesday welcomed Heritage Bank Limited to the northern town.
“Heritage Bank Limited’s $2M investment in its 13th branch, in Corozal Town, came to fruition today, when the ribbon cutting to officially open the bank’s doors was held,” said a social media post by the Corozal Town Council.
Mayor Vellos said Heritage exhibited a ‘robust financial state’ by expanding to the northern district. He thanked Heritage Banks for seeing “potential in my town, our people, the business sector and our overall economy”.
Heritage’s Managing Director Stephen Duncan reviewed the services the bank will offer Corozaleños, including low-interest rate financing for mortgage loans and micro-business start-ups.
The post said Mayor Vellos joined Bank officials including Managing Director Stephen Duncan, Chief Risk Officer Dr. Phillipa Duncan, and Customer Service Senior Manager Bridget Guzman, in declaring the Heritage Bank branch officially open.
The Heritage Bank offices are located on Bocotora Street in Corozal Town, next to SaveMart supermarket.
