By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal Town Council held a virtual stakeholders’ meeting to discuss Anti-Littering Action Plan.
The plan is a three-year strategy to change the environment and reduce littering in Belize’s northernmost town.
Meeting participants offered support in forming workgroups and finalizing the action plan, said the Corozal Town Council.
The meeting, which was attended by representatives of the business community, youth groups, student government, and environmental/conservation advocacy groups, had the objective of encouraging community collaboration and discussing the proposed Corozal Town Municipal Anti-Littering Action Plan.
“The Corozal Town Municipal Anti-Littering Action Plan seeks to strike a balance between enforcement of regulations and community awareness to reduce littering in our municipality,” said the Corozal Town Council on social media.
Additionally, the Town Council said there’s still time for submissions for the Anti-Littering Campaign Slogan Competition. Participants have up to Friday, February 4, to submit their slogans.
