By BBN Staff: Dangriga businessman, Edd Usher, was granted bail by the Supreme Court today for allegedly pulling a gun on his uncle during a disagreement last year.

Usher’s attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley, managed to successfully argue his case for Supreme Court bail before Justice Herbert Lord, moments after he had been arraigned in the Dangriga Magistrate’s Court on a charge of aggravated assault.

He was granted bail in the sum of $7,00 plus either one surety of the same or two sureties of $3,500 each. Under the conditions of his bail, Usher is to report to Dangriga Police Station every Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m., to 7:00 p.m. He must also attend all court adjournments in the Dangriga Magistrate’s Court, he must not communicate with the virtual complainant which is his uncle directly or indirectly himself or through a third party Usher must also stay 100 yards from his uncle, 68-year-old, Philip Usher.

The incident dates back to October 11, 2021. Philip Usher told police he was clearing his front yards when a vehicle drove onto his property at high speed and stopped close to him. He approached the passenger window and saw his nephew and the two began speaking and eventually arguing over some land matters. The nephew then pulled what he said appeared to be a .9mm pistol from out of the vehicle and pointed it at him. Fearful for his life, he ran away and later made a report to the police.
