By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports that there has been a further reduction in the number of active cases of COVID-19.

While 693 new cases were recorded today, 908 persons have recovered for a net loss of 215.

Thus, there are 9,130 active cases of COVID-19 reported countrywide with a further 347 samples under investigation.

However, Belize has now passed the 50 thousand threshold of total cases in the population while also passing 40 thousand total recoveries, pushing the national recovery rate back above 80 percent going into the weekend.

Another death was also reported, bringing that total to 625
