By Aaron Humes: A Belizean man accused of murder was stabbed in the back and died inside a nightclub in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, earlier today, Saturday, according to WNYW-TV (Fox 5 New York).
New York police responding to a 911 call at Harbor NYC Rooftop Terrace and Lounge on West 46th Street and 11th Avenue at around 4:05 a.m. local time found Miles Gibson, 22, who was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital, New York City.
He had gotten into a brawl with another man. As the two came to blows, the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed Gibson in the back, cops said according to the New York Daily News.
Gibson, of the Bronx, was facing murder charges in a 2019 Bronx shooting murder. He and another were accused of the murder of Oliver Askia and he was expected to return to court for a hearing on his case Tuesday.
Family members had little to say to reporters but it was confirmed by a family friend that Gibson was engaged and has a young daughter who just turned a year old earlier this week.
The suspect managed to escape, and so far, no arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
