By Aaron Humes: In separate busts, police have recovered one weapon and multiple rounds of ammunition in the South on Friday.
On Friday between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., police conducted an anti-drug operation in Bella Vista Village. During the operation, they conducted searches in an abandoned bushy lot, where they discovered a .38 revolver Ranger MR FL brand. The firearm was labeled and sealed as found property.
A search of an abandoned lot in the Magoon Area, Punta Gorda Town on Friday netted a chip pack containing (7) 20 gauge ammunition. They also found (4) .32 live rounds of ammunition, (1) 357 Magnum live round of ammunition, and (1) 12 Gauge live round of ammunition.
No one was in the immediate area at the time of either search. As a result, the ammunition was labeled sealed and deposited as found property.
