Health Minister says border re-openings will be delayed for a week; new date set is February 7

By Aaron Humes: Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard has indicated that the Northern and Western Border points will be re-opening on Monday, February 7, 2022, rather than Tuesday, February 1.

“This is to allow for time so that Cabinet can review the recommendations of the Covid Medical Advisory Team and also to ensure all preparations are set in place for a smooth reopening,” the Minister said in a statement to Breaking Belize News (BBN).

It is expected that persons will have all documents with them including their vaccination cards as proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test approved for travel.
