Amir Gonzalez takes Weekends Warriors C-Class 34-mile race

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Amir Gonzalez dominated the Weekends Warriors B-Class 34-mile race winning in one hour and 13 minutes.

The race started at the Maskall Junction on the Philip Goldson Highway, went to the Boston sign on the old Northern Highway about three miles in and turned around to the Philip Goldson Highway on to the Boom to Hattieville Road, took left to the George Price Highway, and finished at Old Belize.

Gonzalez was followed by Sheldon Arnold in second place three minutes later in 1:16. Steve Gill took third in 1:17. Richard Gabourel was fourth in 1:18, and Elton Robinson fifth in 1:19.

Hewrald Humes rode in sixth in 1:20, Jerome Wade was seventh in 1:21, Fiona Castillo eighth in 1:22, Enrique Gongora ninth in 1:39, and Lawrenze Craig rounded off the top ten in 1:48.

Arnold won the first and second sprints by the Maxboro Junction and CD’s Gas. Gonzalez took the third at Colby.
