Belize City couple charged for possession of over 300 grams of marijuana

By BBN Staff: A couple from Belize City was arraigned in court today, faced with drug tracking charges with respect to 371 grams (little more than a half pound) of marijuana allegedly found in their possession.

Kareem Tyron Eaghan, 39, and Rosita Zelaya. 37, were brought into the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, jointly charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another. They were represented by attorney Leroy Banner.

They both pleaded not guilty to the charge and since there was no objection to bail, they were granted bail in the sum of $1,500 each plus one surety each of the same.

Court records showed that Eaghan was in debt to the court in the sum of $305.00, and he had to pay $100 before he could post bail.

They are due back in court on March 31.
