501 Valvoline’s Brandon Cattouse wins Masters Category in Cycling Federation of Belize’s Race 1

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: 501 Valvoline’s Brandon Cattouse won the Masters Category in the Cycling Federation of Belize’s (CFB) Race 1 in Cayo on Sunday, January 30.

The 80-mile race started at Garbutt’s Gas Station in Roaring Creek, headed to Loma Luz Boulevard in Santa Elena, and back, twice.

Cattouse, who won the Krem’s New Year’s Day Cycling Classic, won the Masters in three hours, 30 minutes, and 14 seconds (3:30:14). He was 12th overall in Race 1 won by G-Flow’s Giovanni Lovell in 3:26:09.

Team Cycology’s Dwayne Wade was second and 18th overall in 3:40:21.

Kulture’s Kenroy “Smokes” Gladden finished third and 21st overall in 3:48:43.

Three other Masters didn’t finish. Twenty-three of 32 riders including Elite and Juniors completed the race.

The CFB said Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday, February 6, 2022.
