By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Men’s National Football Team (BMNT) improved considerably and pulled a 1-1 draw against Nicaragua at the Estadio Nacional Dennis Martinez in Managua.
After falling 4-0 on Saturday, the BMNT controlled the first half but fell behind in the 64th minute on a goal by Pablo Gallego. Receiving a wide pass from the left side, Gallego snapped the ball past Woodrow West.
However, the BMNT responded well with a long strike from Deon McCaulay in the 75th minute tying the match.
The 1-1 score played out to the end despite Belize falling a man short when Collin Westby was ejected.
Both Belize and Nicaragua are preparing for the CONCACAF Nations League in June.
