Crooked-Tree based gourmet food brand ‘Strictly Fi Wi’ donating laptops to primary schools

Posted: Tuesday, February 1, 2022. 10:10 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: ‘Strictly fi Wi’, a company that specializes in gourmet food using all Belizean ingredients grown from local farmers, is furthering its mission to support marginalized youth by donating laptops to several primary schools.

The Crooked Tree-based company has partnered with donors Jan & Dan Strutzenberg to acquire 25 computers, which will be delivered to the schools on Thursday, February 3.

These schools are Muslim Community Primary School, Belize City; Biscayne Government School; and Crooked Tree Elementary Government School.

Strictly Fi Wi, founder Jazmynn Tillett, said that the idea to work with the donors to distribute the laptops came after seeing the effect that the COVID-19 pandemic had on schools countrywide.

Tillett, who also works to invest in local youth by providing micro-loans to succeed in entrepreneurship, stressed that the donations and support that the company has given over the last three years has had a visible impact on the lives of the youths that the interventions are designed to reach.

“We have seen students that were struggling now showing us that they are Honour Role Students,” Tillett said.

Meanwhile, the Strutzenbergs, who are originally from the state of Iowa, United States, say that they feel inspired to assist, having fallen in love with Belize over the regular trips that they take to the country.
