Yet another price increase at fuel pumps; one week after last price hike

Posted: Wednesday, February 2, 2022. 2:50 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: The Government of Belize has announced price changes to two types of fuel coming into effect tomorrow.

This afternoon the Ministry of Finance issued a notice saying that effective Thursday, February 3, the cost of Premium gasoline will increase by 43 cents from $12.30 to $12.73 per gallon, while Regular fuel will increase by 18 cents from $12.10 to $12:28.

Meanwhile, the cost of Kerosene and Diesel remains unchanged at $8.79 and $11.56 respectively.

“The price changes reflect current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies,” the Ministry said.

The changes represent the first price change for the month of February and the fourth for the year 2022.
