BEL advises Belmopan customers that power to be restored by 2 p.m.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize Electricity Ltd. (BEL) advises Belmopan customers that the planned power outage today Thursday runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The areas being affected in Belmopan include J&W Area, Egoli Estate, entire San Martin area, entire Salvapan area, entire Maya Mopan area, Storm Drain area, and University Heights 1 and 2.

BEL said the power interruption is “to conduct maintenance of distribution lines, replace equipment and conduct upgrades of the distribution system, remove hazardous vegetation growing into power lines and facilitate connection for a new customer in the area”.
