Belize Weather: Fair today, showers starting tomorrow

The National Meteorological Service reports that fair weather prevails over the nation today. The forecast is for partly cloudy skies with little or no rainfall, and warm temperatures.

High temperatures range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 91 degrees inland and 80 degrees in the hills. Low temperatures tonight range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 70 degrees inland and 64 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots and gusty; sea state is moderate to rough with high waves of five to seven feet. A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and occasionally rough seas.

Tides are low as of 6:03 this morning; a high tide occurs at 11:57 this morning followed by a low at 5:42 this evening and another high tide at 11:51 tonight. The sun sets this evening at 5:49 and rises Friday morning at 6:24.

For Friday and Friday night expect an increase in moisture and showery activity over the country. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely over southern and inland areas Friday afternoon, spreading to most areas during the night.
