By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Department of the Environment (DOE) is closing its Belmopan office on Thursday afternoon according to the Government of Belize Press Office.
DOE said their office is being closed as an additional precautionary measure for preventing and slowing the transmission of COVID-19.
“In order to safeguard the staff and public during this current wave of COVID-19, the Department of the Environment (DOE), within the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management will be temporarily closed this afternoon, February 3, 2022, from 12 noon to 4:00pm in order to clean and sanitize its office space,” said DOE.
DOE said that their services will continue online. They may be contacted through email, their website or via private message via Facebook.
Clients may also contact the Department of the Environment at [email protected] and/or the Deputy Chief Environmental Officer at [email protected]onment.gov.bz.
The office will be reopened on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 8:00 am.
The DOE thanks clients for their understanding and cooperation and continues encouraging everyone “to put precautionary measures in place to protect the health and safety of all”.
