Accused police attacker Steven Flowers has his bail on previous court matter revoked

Posted: Friday, February 4, 2022. 9:27 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Two days ago, 28-year-old, Stephen Barrington Flowers was arraigned on a charge of wounding after being accused of being one of 3 persons who attacked a police officer on January 14, 2022, at the corner of Water Lane and West Street.

Flowers was offered bail in that case but tonight still finds himself at the Belize Central Prison after having his bail from a previous matter revoked.

The revoked bail was in respect to charges of aggravated assault and threatening words back in November of 2021. Flowers allegedly threw a glass bottle at a woman and threatened that if she continued to provoke his mother that he would kill her. His bail was revoked as one of the stipulations was that he should not be arrested and or charged for any offense while out on bail.

Flowers is, thus far, the only suspect apprehended in connection with the stabbing of 34-year-old Police Constable Akeem Jones.

In court, Flowers was suffering from a massive head injury and is believed to have a fractured skull. He told the court that being in jail was not the best environment for him as the head wound, resulting from a stabbing earlier this year, was not healing properly.

However, with his bail revoked, he was remanded to jail until April 7.
