Belize Weather: Fair start, wet finish entering weekend

The National Meteorological Service forecasts fair weather to start with today, but changes to come later.

The day starts sunny with cloudy spells and isolated showers. An increase in clouds, showers and thunderstorms begins in inland areas and the south this afternoon, spreading to most areas later tonight.

High temperatures today are 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 90 degrees inland and 78 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 70 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 67 degrees inland and 62 degrees in the hills. Winds are from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots and sea state is choppy.

Tides will be low at 6:40 this morning and 6:38 this evening and high at 12:31 this afternoon. The sun sets later on at 5:49 and rises at 6:23 Saturday morning.

The extended outlook through Saturday calls for cloudy skies with a few showers, rain and isolated thunderstorms along the coast and over the sea.
