By Aaron Humes: The fourth wave of COVID-19 appears to be receding nearly as fast as it rose in late December.

Just 346 new cases were reported countrywide today according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness, while 766 persons came off the active case list.

Entering the weekend, there were 7,162 active cases of COVID-19 with 280 samples under investigation.

No new deaths were reported and 21 persons remain hospitalized with the virus, of which four are in intensive care.

The national positivity rate is a shade under 12 percent with 53,544 total confirmed cases; 85.4 percent of those who have tested positive or 45,711 individuals have recovered from the virus.
