Surge lessens but central districts still add bulk of new COVID-19 cases

By Aaron Humes: The Cayo and mainland Belize District reported the most new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend.

The Cayo District added 155 new cases including 41 in San Ignacio/Santa Elena, 47 in Belmopan and 16 in Benque Viejo.

Belize City added 119 new cases, San Pedro Town 41 and Ladyville 14.

Up north Orange Walk Town added 33 of 88 new cases in the Orange Walk District and Corozal Town 31 of 68 new cases in Corozal District.

There were 26 new cases in Independence and 10 in Dangriga as the Stann Creek District reported 60 new cases; and 21 in Punta Gorda Town of 71 overall in the Toledo District.
