Suspect detained in investigation Evan Mitchell’s stabbing death

By Aaron Humes: The man accused of stabbing Evan Mitchell Friday night has been held pending a decision on charges.

According to police, Mitchell was walking to the neighborhood shop with a female relative when her common-law husband came out of the bushes, exchanged words with Mitchell and they began to fight.

The accused stabbed Mitchell with an unknown object, leaving him unconscious; he died in hospital on Saturday morning.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will decide what charge to levy on the accused; until then it is being treated as a death investigation.
