Police say human remains found not yet identified

By Aaron Humes: According to police, no positive identification has been made of whose decomposed remains were found on Tuesday morning.

The body, believed to be male, was discovered in advanced decomposition around 7:00 a.m. approximately a quarter-mile off a feeder road in the Cayo District.

There had been speculation the remains belonged to a recently missing person.

The human remains were transported to the Belize National Forensic Laboratory where it awaits a post mortem examination. Police are investigating.
