Belize Weather: Fair and cool as week winds down

A cool northerly airflow prevails over the area. The 24-hour forecast per the National Meteorological Service is for skies to be cloudy at times with isolated showers only over the mainland and a few over the sea today and tonight over coastal areas.

High temperatures today are 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 83 degrees inland and 70 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures: 72 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 68 degrees in the interior and 60 degrees in the hills.

Winds are from the north to northeast at five to 15 knots and sea state is slight to light chop with waves of one to four feet in height.

Tides are currently high; the next low tide is at 10:54 this morning, followed by a high tide at 5:07 this evening. The sun sets at 5:52 this evening and rises at 6:21 Friday morning.

The outlook for Friday and Friday night is for some cloudy spells along with generally isolated showers.
