Verdes visit Garden City at FFB Stadium on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Garden City FC from Belmopan will be hosting the FFB Top League champions Verdes on Sunday, February 13, at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

The match is scheduled to be played at 6:30 pm

Even though Garden City are a new entrant in Belize’s top-level football having played only the Opening Championship, games between Verdes and any Belmopan side are always a heated rivalry. And while Garden City might be new at that level, the players aren’t. Most of their players come from the Belmopan Bandits and are therefore no strangers to this level of competition.

So, expect a great game when they meet this Sunday.

Verdes have a formidable team with several foreign players including Mexican Edwin Villeda Bernal, Colombian Camilo Márquez Fajardo, and Argentine Facundo Garnier added to their home-grown talent such as Krisean Lopez, and Jordy Polanco.

Garden City will feature the likes of Denmark Casey, Jordan Casanova, Ian Gaynair, and Jahlin Pelayo.

Elsewhere, Wagiya are hosting the San Pedro Pirates at the FFB Stadium on Saturday night and Caesar Ridge are going to face Altitude at the MCC Grounds in Belize City on Sunday.
